Instructional Strategy
The Internet Safety lesson can be used for several classes that Pongos Learning Lab offers, including the YouTube Stars program and Girl Scout Cybersecurity badge workshops. The intended audience for this lesson is students in grades K-5.
During the YouTube Stars program, we complete the Internet Safety lesson prior to teaching kids how to create their videos. When we first started offering the program, we found that many kids would create videos that shared their personal information, which could compromise their safety and privacy. Now that we require the Internet Security lesson, kids are more careful about sharing personal information in their videos.
